The concept of the exebition coresponds very well with the slogan of the 2017 Festival, which is „Storm“ but also with the celebration of 100 years of De Stijl movement. In this case the II world war was the storm, which exelerated in Netherlands the process of walking away of the traditional bourgoi interior.

On masive scale introduced modern design inpired by the domestic avangard as well as by the prominent American and Scandinavian designers.

Till the II world war De Stijl artists were known only among the small elite of the european avant-gard. War has definitely destroyed the world of traditional bourgoi. In the place of the ruined old fashon Europe rised the new world, in which the avant-guard ideas became the new reality.

Late 40’s and 50’s brought the total change of the artistic preferences. New ideas were announced by the prominent  authors, who derived from the great Rietveld’s tradition as well as from American and Scanidinvian projects.
